Pharmaceutical aid from Volunteer Doctors-Cyprus is on its way to Rafah, following many obstacles and bureaucratic issues. A statement by the organization says that the container with ten tons of medicines, was handed over to the Palestinian Red Crescent, after the mediation of the Egyptian Red Crescent. This is the only medical aid Cyprus sent so far, the statement reads.
On Friday, the Volunteer Doctors announced that daunting difficulties and bureaucratic hurdles that seemed insurmountable had been overcome and that the container with ten tons of medicine, through the mediation of the Egyptian Red Crescent, would be handed over to the Palestinian Red Crescent for delivery to its destination.
The Honorary President of the Organization, Eleni Theocharous, also informed that the Volunteer Doctors would continue to collect humanitarian aid for the Palestinian civilian population, to collect and send 10 tons of baby food, mainly milk, and invited interested citizens to await details regarding the procedure and method of collecting the food to be announced in the coming days.
