A serious road collision occurred this afternoon on the main road between Parekklisia and Kellaki when a lorry hit an elderly person while they were crossing the road.
According to initial information from the police, the 70-year-old had parked his vehicle at the side of the road and subsequently crossed over to the grill restaurant.
Upon his return, under circumstances being investigated, he was hit by a passing lorry travelling southbound.
The 70-year-old appears to have been seriously injured in the collision. An ambulance was called to the scene, where it attended to the pedestrian and transported him to the hospital.
At the collision site, members of the Moni Police Station and the Limassol Traffic Police arrived to clarify the circumstances and conduct on-site examinations.
