Paphos police probe stabbing of 29-year-old

Paphos police are investigating the stabbing of a 29-year-old, while also seeking a 33-year-old in connection with the incident.

According to Assistant Police Director of Operations in Paphos, Michalis Nicolaou, on April 27, 2024, around 23:20, an injured individual arrived at Polis Chrysochous Hospital with wounds to the right armpit.

Subsequently, stated Nicolaou, the injured individual was promptly transferred by ambulance to Paphos Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries.

It was determined that the individual was a 29-year-old resident of the village of Argaka.

As reported to the police, on April 27, 2024, around 21:30, following an argument with a 33-year-old roommate, the complainant was attacked with a knife, resulting in injuries to the right armpit.

An arrest warrant has been issued against the 33-year-old, who is now sought by authorities.

The complainant was discharged from the hospital on Sunday afternoon, however, they were arrested as further examinations revealed that they were residing illegally in the Republic’s territory.

Efforts to locate the 33-year-old continue.
