Relevant News

Paphos Municipality has officially commenced the construction of student residences in partnership with a local firm, following the signing of the contract.

The project aims to accommodate students from the Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK), which started operating in the city this year, and other academic institutions.

The planned construction will occupy a purchased land of five thousand square meters, acquired by the municipality for €1.2 million, located opposite the TEPAK building.

The development will consist of 203 rooms, with future plans for additional green spaces, tennis and basketball courts, as well as parking facilities.

The completion of the Paphos Municipality student residences is anticipated within 11 months.

Mayor of Paphos, Fedonas Fedonos, expressed gratitude to the ecclesiastical committee of Panagia Pantanassa, which agreed to consolidate the land housing TEPAK Paphos, the site hosting the Panagia Pantanassa church, and the area designated for the construction of the municipal student residences.

He emphasized that the establishment of TEPAK in Paphos signifies an increase in the city’s critical mass, paving the way for a new economic pillar in the city and province.

Additionally, Mr. Fedonos stated that it contributes to the enhancement of the city’s tourism industry and cultural life, creating new employment opportunities.
