In a recent statement to philenews, the newly appointed Minister of Justice and Public Order, Marios Hartsiotis, has expressed his commitment to following the objectives outlined in the pre-election programme of the Christodoulides administration.

Highlighting the key priorities of the government’s pre-election agenda, Hartsiotis stressed the need for modernising the prison system, implementing justice reforms, and bolstering the overall sense of public security. He further outlined plans for a comprehensive strategy, post-assuming office, to propel and actualise the outlined objectives within the framework of the Christodoulides government programme.

Noteworthy is Hartsiotis’s extensive background in the legal sector, having operated his own law firm in Limassol since 1990.

Additionally, Hartsiotis is registered as an arbitrator at the Cyprus Center for Arbitration and Mediation, and he holds the title of a registered insolvency practitioner.

The new Justice Minister will be sworn in and assume duties on January 10. He replaces Anna Koukkides-Procopiou.
