The Department of Urban Planning and Housing has officially launched the second Call for Applications for the Student Housing Grants/Rooms initiative within the walls of Nicosia.
The total funding allocated for this project is €15 million.
In a statement from the Nicosia Municipality, it is clarified that this initiative is part of the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan for the period 2021-2026.
The funding is provided by the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, the central tool of the NextGenerationEU.
The project is specifically included in the framework of the “Revitalization and Regeneration within the Walls of Nicosia” measure.
The Municipality of Nicosia notes that “this project, in conjunction with other initiatives, will breathe new life into the city center and contribute to the revitalization of the walled city of Nicosia by attracting students.”
