On Saturday evening the Police arrested two persons, a woman and a man, aged 24 and 19, in the framework of the investigation of a case of conspiracy and aiding the illegal entry, transit, and stay of third-country nationals in the territory of the Republic.
According to the Police, the offenses were committed recently and specifically between 08 and 17 February. The two suspects were arrested shortly after midnight, by members of the Nicosia CID, under court warrants issued based on information obtained by the Police.
On Sunday morning, the two suspects were brought before the Nicosia District Court for the issuance of detention orders. After the Court approved the Police’s request, it issued detention orders for the two suspects for eight days to investigate the case.
The two suspects are being investigated for, among other things, offenses of conspiracy to commit a felony and a misdemeanor, assisting the illegal entry, transit, and stay in the territory of the Republic, impersonation, securing registration using false representations, and money laundering.
