In a statement released earlier today, the Department of Meteorology issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms.
The warning is valid from noon on Thursday, December 21 until 2 a.m. on Friday, December 22.
According to the Department, isolated heavy thunderstorms are anticipated to impact the west half of the island initially, gradually extending across the entire region.
Hail is expected during the storms, and wind strengths may vary, potentially intensifying.
The precipitation rate is projected to range between 35 and 55 millimetres per hour.
