Beachgoers in Pervolia, Larnaca, have reported repeated incidents of boat owners and tour operators dumping garbage overboard.
This poses a threat to marine life, particularly turtles which can become entangled in plastic debris.
Residents expressed outrage after finding shoes, toiletries, food containers, plastic packaging, and other waste items littering the beach for three consecutive days.
One resident, who previously cleaned up the beach himself, decried the lack of consideration for the environment and the local community.
“I wondered how inconsiderate the person who throws garbage into the sea is, whether this person is Cypriot, and whether they love this place,” the resident told philenews.
