Kurds in Cyprus to protest against Turkish bombardments in Syria

Relevant News

Tomorrow at 11 a.m., Kurds will march in protest of Turkey’s bombings on political installations in Rojava, the autonomous region in northern and eastern Syria.

The announcement reads as follows:

For days, Turkey has been bombing political installations in Rojava, the autonomous region in northern and eastern Syria.

Turkish airstrikes target power plants, fuel depots, and food factories. Over a million people have been left without water and electricity.

With these air attacks and destruction, Turkey aims to drive the residents out of the region, promoting Turkification and gaining control over this part of Syria.

The politically dominant countries have not reacted to these attacks.

The attacks clearly constitute a serious violation of the principles of the United Nations regarding international relations and an invasion into Syrian territory.

To denounce the stance of the politically dominant countries, Kurds in Cyprus will march with cars.

The march will start tomorrow, Wednesday, January 3, at 11:00 a.m., from the Ministry of Interior premises.

It will proceed towards Griva-Digeni Avenue, passing the lights of the Lykavittos police station and immediately turning left onto *** Street next to the “Woolworth” supermarket.

At the end of it, reaching Stasinou Street, it will turn, cross Makarios Avenue, follow Evagorou Street, and then turn right onto Diagorou Street.

They will continue on Diagorou Street, and at the lights of the Parliament, turn onto Chilonos Street.

Following Chilonos Street, they will enter Metochiou Street, passing in front of the American Embassy.

Participants in the march will leave their cars nearby and, before the American Embassy, in the open space to the right of Metochiou Street, behind the cypresses.

From there, they will walk towards the American Embassy. There, they will request to meet with a representative of the embassy, to whom they will deliver a letter.

They will then walk towards the Russian Embassy. There, they will also request a meeting with a representative of the embassy, to whom they will deliver a letter.

The letters urge the United States and Russia to prevent Turkey’s airstrikes against Rojava.

A no-fly zone must be established on the Turkish-Syrian border.

After delivering the letter to the Russian Embassy, the event will conclude.

We invite the media to cover the march journalistically.

On the occasion of the holidays and the new year, we send our wishes for a new year of health to all the friendly people of Cyprus. We hope the new year brings freedom, democracy, and peace to our countries and all the people of the world.
