I-justice to return on Monday

Relevant News

The Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy is working feverishly to ensure that the transition to the initial i-Justice system takes place on Monday, to allow time to address issues, stated Deputy Minister Nikodimos Damianou to CNA.

“We are preparing feverishly to be able to operate Justice as smoothly as possible on Monday, and the preparation is precisely for i-Justice,” Mr. Damianou told CNA.

As he explained, the work being done involves transferring the data that had been entered into the e-Justice system, since its operation began on January 15, until the final decision is made to transition to i-Justice.

“For that data, actions are being taken to make a complete transition when and if the final decision is made,” Mr. Damianou added, noting that he expects an evaluation of the changes still being made by the company.

Asked about it, Mr. Damianou said that a relevant announcement may be issued by the Ministry within the weekend, adding that the important thing is the announcement from the Supreme Court giving guidance to lawyers on how to operate.

Regarding what should be done regarding e-Justice, Mr. Damianou emphasized that the goal is for the work of e-Justice to continue and to see if the issues have indeed been resolved.

“This time, we want to make sure that the changes claimed to have been made by the company have been properly checked and that the system is indeed ready to be put back into productive operation,” he said, noting that the deadline given to the contracting company expires tomorrow.

The effort, said the Minister of Research, “is to exhaust all possibilities so that the system works and works correctly.”

i-Justice, which is essentially a document management system, only concerns document registration, unlike e-Justice, which is a comprehensive electronic justice system, he explained.
