The yellow warning issued by the Meteorological Service is in force until 5 p.m.
According to the Meteorological Department, isolated thunderstorms are expected to affect mainly the mountainous areas and the eastern half of the island, while hail is also likely. The intensity is expected to range between 35 and 55 mm per hour.
