Four ministers leaving Cabinet following reshuffling

Relevant News

Following President Christodoulides’ decision to reshuffle his Cabinet, four individuals – Anna Koukkides-Procopiou, Michalis Giorgallas, Petros Xenofontos, and Popi Kanari – are handing over their portfolios to the new officials.

Specifically, Vasilis Palmas takes over the Ministry of Defence, Michalis Damianos assumes the Ministry of Health, Marios Hartsiotis takes charge of the Ministry of Justice, and Maria Panayiotou is appointed to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Following the resignation of Philippos Hadjizacharias, Damianos Nicodemou steps into the position of Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation.

Most of the departing ministers’ names had been revealed in the days leading up to the imminent reshuffle, as part of the nomenclature surrounding the impending changes.

In the previous period, Anna Koukkides-Procopiou and Popi Kanari had been prominently featured in the news, the former due to incidents in Limassol and Chloraka, and the latter due to a dispute with the Director of the Ministry of Health, Christina Giannaki.
