Cyprus Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos is scheduled to visit Israel on Thursday, to be informed on the latest developments in the Middle East and continue diplomatic engagements with counterparts in the region.
The agenda includes discussions with Israeli officials regarding Cyprus’ initiative to establish a maritime corridor for providing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
As noted in the Foreign Ministry’s statement, Kombos will be received by Israeli President Isaac Herzog and hold meetings with his Israeli counterpart, Eli Cohen.
Central to the discussions during the Foreign Minister’s visit will be the regional situation following the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7, alongside Cyprus’ initiative for a humanitarian aid maritime corridor.
Kombos will also meet with the staff of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Tel Aviv as part of his visit.
