The next days could bring high winds, rain and the season’s first snow, as a weak low-pressure system moving from the Balkans will start affecting Cyprus on Saturday.
According to the Department of Meteorology, on Friday there will be increased cloud cover with isolated showers. Temperatures will rise to around 26 degrees Celsius inland and on the coasts and around 16 degrees in the higher mountains.
Saturday will start off mainly fine, however, it will gradually turn mostly cloudy. Rain and local thunderstorms are expected in the early evening hours. High winds are also likely.
Sunday will also see increased cloud cover with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. The Department of Meteorology forecasts snow on the highest peaks of Troodos.
Temperatures on Sunday will experience a noticeable drop, falling below the average for the time of the season.
