An uncontrolled fire in the Agios Sylas industrial zone has prompted renewed calls from local industrialists for the establishment of a fire station and a second exit route.
Pavlos Paradisiotis, President of the Agios Sylas Industrialists Association, said the fire highlights the need for urgent action on safety measures.
“While much has been done, the remaining planned steps must be implemented to ensure the area’s safety,” he told philenews.
When asked about a proposed fire station in the area, Paradisiotis stressed that today’s fire demonstrates the urgency of taking timely and targeted actions to comprehensively safeguard the industrial zone.
Additionally, he highlighted the need for a second exit to ensure the safety of personnel working in the industries, a concern that has been raised repeatedly.
