European Commission launches “ImagineEU” competition for secondary schools

Relevant News

With the start of this new school year, a remarkable opportunity is offered to European Union (EU) students, which promises to give them the chance to become active and educated about democracy in Europe. The European Commission launches the ImagineEU competition and invites students on a journey of discovery.

The European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) is a democratic tool designed to encourage citizens’ active participation in public life and their interaction with the EU. The ECI gives European citizens the power to shape EU policies and participate in the democratic processes of the EU. Now it is the turn of students to become active in this field through the ImagineEU competition, which has the principles of the ECI as its foundation.

Students from all EU Member States are invited this school year to team up, share their innovative ideas, and imagine concrete actions to improve life in Europe.

The three winning teams will have the chance to win a study trip to Brussels, the heart of the EU.

The deadline for submitting entries is 13 December 2023. The detailed rules of the competition and details of how to apply are available on the competition website (https://citizens-initiative.europa.eu/schools/video-competition_el).
