Elam, Efen included in occupied north’s terrorist organisations list

Relevant News

The “government” in the occupied north has once again included the far-right Greek nationalist party Elam in its list of terrorist organisations.

According to Kibris Postasi, the list was published on Thursday, January 11, in the “official gazette” of the administration in the north.

Greek Cypriot nationalist student union Efen was also on the list, as was Greece’s Golden Dawn, which has been included for the first time.

The list also features the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), as well as some Marxist-Leninist and Maoist organisations and Islamist organisations such as the Islamic State (ISIS), Boko Haram and Al-Qaeda.

With the directive accompanying the list, the organisations included are banned from operating in the occupied north, while it is prohibited for members of the public to carry symbols and display flags connected with the groups, as well as pictures of persons associated with them.

Elam is currently the fourth largest party in the Cypriot Parliament.
