EDEK demands investigation into ELAM leader’s role in Saint Habakkuk scandal

Relevant News

In light of the revelations surrounding the Saint Habakkuk Monastery scandal and the alleged involvement of the ELAM party leader and the former Police Chief, EDEK demands decisive action from the state authorities.

EDEK proposes the following measures:

  1. The voluntary intervention of the Attorney General and the appointment of independent criminal investigators for the full clarification of all aspects of the case, including possible criminal offenses, such as the actions of hooded individuals, vehicles with covered license plates, the excessive amount of money (approximately one million), and the allegations of abduction. The indecisiveness of the police leadership does not reassure us that everything will be thoroughly and successfully investigated promptly.
  2. The lifting of the parliamentary immunity of the President of ELAM, in order to facilitate investigations and inquiries, including his own involvement, rather than depending on his alleged voluntary intention to testify.
  3. The investigation by experts into the timing of the issuance of the letter from the Metropolitan appointing the President of ELAM as the throne commissioner of the Metropolitan.
  4. The summoning of the former Chief of Police to investigate his involvement in the case.
