Deputy Minister of Shipping visits Japan

Relevant News

Cyprus Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hatzimanolis, is currently in Japan as part of efforts to promote and showcase the Cypriot maritime industry.

The Deputy Minister will hold a series of meetings with shipowners, maritime company executives, financial institutions, and shipyards.

The visit is part of intensive efforts to promote and strengthen the Cypriot registry and, more broadly, the maritime sector in Cyprus.

The objective is to attract maritime companies to Cyprus and register ships under the Cypriot flag.

As part of her visit to Japan, the Deputy Minister will attend the naming ceremonies of two newly built cargo ships belonging to the company Safe Bulkers.

These vessels have been constructed in accordance with the highest standards and modern environmental specifications. They will be registered under the Cypriot flag.

The two ships will be named ‘Amochostos’ and ‘Kyrenia’ in a symbolic gesture of remembrance by the company, marking 50 years since Turkey’s invasion of Cyprus.
