The Permanent Criminal Court of Larnaca today imposed concurrent sentences of ten years imprisonment on a 25-year-old woman, whom it found guilty after hearing a case of drug trafficking, for the offenses of importation and possession of drugs.
The 25-year-old was arrested on September 7, 2023, at Larnaca Airport, where she had arrived on a flight from a foreign country earlier.
Following a baggage check by a Customs Department officer, in collaboration with the Police and Customs Department, five (5) nylon packages containing approximately 9.5 kilograms of cannabis were found in her luggage.
The case was investigated by the Larnaca District Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN).
