Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Stella Kyriakides, is set to embark on a visit to Italy from 21-22 March, focusing on discussions regarding the implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan at the national level.

During her visit, she will also tour specialised institutions engaged in cancer projects funded by the EU4Health programme.

In Milan, Commissioner Kyriakides will pay visits to significant entities such as the Italian National Cancer Institute (INT) and the European Institute of Oncology (IEO).

Both establishments actively participate in numerous projects funded by EU4Health.

For instance, INT serves as the coordinator for the Joint Action on Networks of Expertise (JA JANE) and the ‘European Linkage of Initiative from Science to Action in Health’ – ELISAH project. Meanwhile, IEO spearheads the Cancer Care Beacon – Reducing Disparities Across the European Union (BEACON) initiative.

Additionally, the Commissioner is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the 14th European Breast Cancer Conference.

Moreover, Commissioner Kyriakides will be in attendance at the WEmbrace Awards 2024, a charitable event celebrating physical wellness, diversity, and inclusion.
