Three children have been admitted to Makario Hospital following their rescue from a wooden boat spotted adrift off Cape Greco on Wednesday morning.
According to Pambos Charilaou, the spokesperson for the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY), two of the children are in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit, while a third, suffering from a chronic illness, was also onboard and has been hospitalised.
In addition to the three children at Makario Hospital, two others are receiving medical attention at Famagusta General Hospital.
Another child who was on the boat passed away on Wednesday.
The children were found in an unconscious state early on a boat off Cape Greco along with 55 other individuals.
The small wooden boat carrying migrants, which had been missing since January 18, was located at 4:30 am on Wednesday, 30 nautical miles east off Cape Greco.
