If the damage to agricultural production from the rainfall and hailstorms that occurred on Sunday and Monday in the Pitsilia region is such that assistance is needed, the prescribed compensation procedure from the Agricultural Production Risk Management Fund will be followed, stated Andreas Gregoriou, the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture.
When asked about it, Gregoriou noted that instructions were given for officials to go to the site, assess the extent of the damage, and if the damage warrants compensation, then it will be provided.
“So far, we do not have a clear picture of the extent of the damage,” he emphasized, “and in the coming days, officials will go to the site for inspection.”
