A 17-year-old individual has been apprehended as a suspect in a case involving the rape of an 80-year-old tourist who was on vacation in Ayia Napa.
The incident was reported to the Famagusta Police on Thursday, December 14, by the elderly woman.
She reported that an unknown person attacked her in a remote area around 3:30 am in the afternoon.
Still in a state of shock, the woman described how, as she was walking back from the beach, an individual started following her.
He forcibly took her to a secluded area and assaulted her.
After conducting investigations, the police arrested a 17-year-old.
The suspect has been remanded for 8 days by the Famagusta District Court in Paralimni.
