Police fined 27 individuals all across Cyprus over the past 24 hours for violation of protective measures aiming to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
A police spokesperson told the Cyprus News Agency they had carried out a total of 2,576 inspections.
In Nicosia, they carried out 1,102 checks and reported 9 people while in Limassol they conducted 200 checks and fined 7 individuals.
In Larnaca, they carried out 488 checks and handed out fines to 2 citizens, in Pafos they conducted 181 checks and booked 4 citizens.
In Famagusta a total of 358 checks were carried out and 5 people were fined, while in Morphou the police conducted 120 checks without reporting anyone.
Port and Marine Police conducted 24 checks without reporting anyone.
