Limassol police arrest driver doing 194 km per hour

Limassol police have arrested a 40 year old driver who was caught speeding at 194 km per hour on the Limassol-Nicosia highway where the speed limit is 100 km per hour.

Police said that the man was stopped  near the Moutayiakka junction during routine traffic checks at around 10.50 on  Thursday night.

The man was arrested and taken to Limassol police station where he was charged in writing and released.

He is due to appear before Limassol district court today for an immediate hearing.
