Larnaca resident urges municipality to establish pet cemetery

A Larnaca resident has written to the town’s mayor Andreas Vyras canvassing for the creation of a pet cemetery.

In the letter – first reported by Alpha News and City of Larnaka.com website — the residents said that all pet-owners should be able to bury their pets with dignity and as a mark of appreciation for their companionship.

The resident also notes that many cities worldwide have pet cemeteries and urged the mayor to raise the issue with the municipal council.

“Implementation of such a proposal will not only bring relief to a large number of residents, Cypriots and non-Cypriots who live in our country but will also be another innovative move on the part of the municipal authority,” the letter read.
