Larnaca: Man hospitalised after trashing hotel room under influence of meth

A 25 year old man has been hospitalised with injuries after he trashed a hotel room in Larnaca while under the influence of crystal meth, the Cyprus News Agency reports.

Police were called to the hotel in the centre of town at around 22.30 pm on Tuesday because a person was wrecking one of the rooms.

On arrival, from his shouts and the noise they thought someone was in danger but could not get anyone from the inside to open the door so the fire service was called in.

In the room, police found only one person who was smashing glass, furniture and other objects in the room. There was also considerable blood as the 25 year old, a Nicosia resident,  had hurt himself.

An ambulance was called and he was taken to Larnaca Hospital where he was given first aid and is expected to undergo surgery. He remains in hospital under guard.

He told police he had taken crystal meth.

The damage to the hotel room has not yet been assessed, the Cyprus News Agency added.
