Kardia tou Magka: unique place for traditional food and live music

This tavern located in one of the oldest historical areas of Nicosia – Palouriotissa – is renowned for its authentic Cypriot food and warm atmosphere. This place is unique in a sense that before Cypriot fans of good Rembetiko needed to travel to Greece to enjoy their favourite genre, however now it is available in Nicosia.

Initially, the tavern was founded by the members of the band Laiki Tetraktys for their friends and fans, but very soon it became famous not only within capital dwellers but also island-wide.

Live traditional Greek music Rembetiko, delicious home made food (menu includes legendary kleftiko, stuffed vegetables gemista, grills such as pork and lamb chops and souvlakia, stifado, fresh salads, amazing dips, pies, side dishes and many more), great service, stylish interior and surprisingly low prices… As the owners say, they did not create this place for profit, it was created for friends and fans, that’s why the prices are affordable, food is amazing and the hospitality is really unforgettable.
