The Nicosia Criminal Court on Wednesday sentenced a man who practised dentistry without a degree to two and a half years in jail, philenews reports, while his company was fined €100,000.
The defendant was found guilty on ten counts concerning securing goods by false representation, attempting to secure registration by false representation, circulating a forged document and practising without a dental licence.
The man had been ‘practising’ dentistry from April 30, 2011 to September 18, 2018. During this time, he received payments of €57,000.
To check the authenticity of his documents, police contacted Russian authorities that verified that none of his qualifications were accredited.
