Cyprus’ trade deficit fell €563 million in the first eleven months of 2018, compared with the same period in 2017, due to a significant increase in imports over €1 billion.
The trade deficit was €4.192,4 mn in January-November 2018 compared with €4.755,5 mn in the corresponding period of 2017, the Statistical Service announced Friday.
Cystat reported that total imports in January-November 2018 amounted to €8.274,2 mn compared with €7.491,0 mn in January-November 2017. Total exports in January-November 2018 were €4.081,8 mn compared with €2.735,5 mn in January-November 2017.
During November 2018 total imports stood at €959,6 mn compared with €1.036,0 mn in November 2017.
Total exports, including stores and provisions in November 2018 amounted to €206,1 mn compared with €228,9 mn in November 2017. Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in November 2018 were €84,2 mn compared with €129,8 mn in November 2017 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in November 2018 were €121,9 mn compared with €99,1 mn in November 2017.
Total domestic exports of industrial products in November 2018 were €76,3 mn from €121,5 mn in November 2017. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in November 2018 were €5,9 mn from €5,2 mn in the same month of 2017.
