Total Employment for the 2nd quarter of 2019 is estimated at 433.954 persons, of which 383.697 are employees and 50.257 are self-employed.
According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, compared to the corresponding quarter of 2018, total employment for the 2nd quarter 2019 increased by 3,0%.
The highest percentage increase was observed in the economic activities of Arts, Entertainment and Recreation (NACE R), Construction (ΝΑCE F), Real Estate Activities (NACE L) and Information and Communication (NACE J). Decrease, compared to the 2nd quarter of 2018, was observed in the Financial and Insurance Activities (NACE K).
Actual hours worked for the 2nd quarter of 2019 are estimated at 196.860 thousand; an increase of 3,0%, compared to the corresponding quarter of 2018.
