State departments in need of premises to rent or buy

The government is looking to rent or buy two buildings totalling some 7,700 square metres to accommodate two separate departments.

Specifically, the Social Security Service of the Ministry of Labour has called for expression of interest from legal or natural persons for the renting or buying of a building/buildings to cover the immediate needs of its Head Office.

The first deadline for submitting an application is Friday, February 14, 2020. The space required to accommodate the headquarters should be at least 3,700 sq. m. for office space of up to 1,200 sq.m. and for storage area – as indicated in the architectural plan. The total number of employees in this building will be approximately 202.

The invitation for bids also states that a building/buildings which, for whatever reason, cannot be free for delivery by end of December 2021 is not accepted.

At the same time, the Registrar of Companies has also called for bids by individuals or companies for the renting of a building in Nicosia district, and more specifically within the areas of Strovolos, Aglantzia, Engomi and Agios Dometios, for a period of seven years with the right of extending the contract for another two years.

The bid does not exclude the possibility that the two parties could agree to negotiate a long-term lease, rental or purchase agreement. And that a total area of ​​2800 sq. meters is required with easy access to citizens of municipalities and communities of all districts.

Of the total required area, 2,600 sq. m. are for office purposed, including freight corridors and services and 200 sq. m. should serve as a warehouse, part of which may also be in an underground space.

The building should have been constructed after 2010 or be ready for delivery and use by December 2022 at the latest.
