A significant annual increase in the price of olive oil and fruits, as well as in passenger transport, was recorded in April, according to data from the recent publication of the Consumer Price Index by the Statistical Service and processed by the Cyprus Consumers’ Association.
Specifically, the price of olive oil in April 2024 increased by 63.61% compared to April 2023.
Additionally, passenger transport prices increased by 16.54%, while fresh fruit prices rose by 15.99%.
Compared to the previous month, there was a 12.58% increase in the price of footwear items for infants and children, while hotel prices in April increased by 11.83% compared to March 2024. Noteworthy, compared to the previous month, is also the increase in gasoline prices by 10.27%.
According to data processed by the Cyprus Consumers’ Association, compared to last April, passenger air transport prices decreased by 18.31% in April 2024.
A decrease of 16.77% was also recorded in the prices of fresh vegetables, while sugar also decreased by 13.79%, compared to the same month last year.
Fresh vegetable prices decreased in April compared to March 2024 by 7.34%.
