New branding for Cyprus tourism

Relevant News

‘Love Cyprus’ will be a logo of the past in a year’s time with the Deputy Ministry of Tourism now getting ready to open tenders for the holiday Mediterranean island’s new image.

In a recent interview, Deputy Minister Savvas Perdios said Cyprus will present a new brand name with a fresh logo, photos and colours at Berlin 2020 tourism exhibition. The goal of rebranding Cyprus is to bring to light the island’s unique selling points, he added.

However, an important factor behind the ambitious rebranding is finding the money, considering that the tender call costs €2 million that will come out of national funds. The House of Representatives has to approve the relevant amounts to be included in the respective annual budgets for the Deputy Ministry of Tourism before the agreement to be reached with a contractor can be applied.

The contract is for 36 months from the date of commencement, with the possibility of a further renewal.

According to draft tender documents, the contract provides for a designated financial operator to provide services for the creation of a competitive brand for Cyprus and its application to all marketing activities of the Deputy Ministry.

In particular, the contractor will be responsible for the creation and preparation of all the necessary creative materials for the implementation of the new brand, as well as the design and production of the creative material for all the advertising and commercial activities of the deputy ministry.

Proposals may concern campaigns for a particular geographical area/country or specific market segments or the promotion of specific forms of tourism. The contractor should be able to submit creative proposals in different languages that meet the specific needs of each country. In addition, the contractor should prepare advertising material to be used in the media (internet, press, outdoor advertising, television, cinema, radio, etc.)
