Cyprus residents that returned from a trip abroad in January 2019 amounted to 119,570 compared to 107,759 in January 2018, recording an increase of 11%, based of the Passengers Survey conducted by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.
The most significant change in January 2019 was the increase by 70.1% recorded in trips to Russia, that stood at 8,979 in January 2019 compared to 5,278 in January 2018.
In contrast, trips to Greece decreased by 4% and trips to the United Kingdom by 4.9%.
The purpose of the trip in January was by 79.2% entertainment, by 17.8% work, by 1.8% studies and by 1.2% other reasons.
