Bounced cheques issued in February 2019 amounted to €133,583, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).
A total of 92 bounced cheques were included in the CBC’s central information register for dishonoured cheques in February with a total value of €133,583 compared with €181,534 in January 2019 and €74,573 in February 2018.
In the first two months of 2019 a total of 192 bounced cheques with a total value of €315,117 were included in the register compared with 165 cheques amounting to €224,301 issued in the respective period of 2018.
In February, 26 persons and 25 companies were included in the preliminary register compared with 50 persons and entities the previous month.
