Almost €20,000 in unpaid cheques in February

Sixteen unpaid cheques totalling €19,388 were issued in February, leading to nine individuals or companies being added to the Central Register of Unpaid Cheques, maintained by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

According to data published by the CBC, 61 unpaid cheques worth €89,035 were recorded in the first two months of 2024, compared to €160,882 in January and February of 2023.

In February 2024, 13 individuals or entities were added to the Register, including six companies, one trust, and six natural persons who control legal entities.

This brings the total number of entries in the Register to 47 for the year so far, compared to 55 in the same period of 2023.
