Occupancy in Paphos hotels during October was around 75% much better than last year, according to Thanos Michaelides, President of Hoteliers. However, Michaelides said the hoteliers are uncertain about what will happen in the winter. He noted that there is concern about the pandemic, particularly in the United Kingdom, which constitutes the main market, especially for winter.
In a relevant question, he said that it is still not clear how many hotels will remain open in winter.
Regarding other problems that hoteliers are going to face in the coming period, Michaelides referred to the lack of employees, due to the fact that the hotels remained closed for a large period of time and the employees have found work elsewhere.
