Total new loans decrease in July 2018

Total new loans recorded a decrease to €284.1 million in July 2018, compared to €313.0 million in the previous month, the Central Bank said on Monday

New loans for consumption registered an increase to €17.4 million, compared with €14.7 million in the previous month.

New loans for house purchase fell to €73.9 million, compared with €83.9 million in the previous month.

New loans to non-financial corporations for amounts up to €1 million decreased to €41.3 million, compared with €48.9 million in the previous month. New loans to non-financial corporations for amounts over €1 million recorded a decline to €134.1 million, compared with €144.2 million in the previous month.

The interest rate on consumer credit fell to 3.76%, compared with 3.91% in the previous month.  The interest rate on loans for house purchase increased to 2.47%, compared with 2.38% in the previous month.

The interest rate on loans to non-financial corporations for amounts up to €1 million registered a marginal decrease to 3.61%, compared with 3.62% in the previous month. The interest rate on loans to non-financial corporations for amounts over €1 million rose to 3.52%, compared with 2.91% in the previous month.

The interest rate on deposits from households with an agreed maturity of up to one year recorded a decrease to 0.85%, compared with 0.95% in the previous month.

The corresponding interest rate on deposits from non-financial corporations registered a decline to 0.55%, compared with 0.75% in the previous month.
