Invest Cyprus (the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency), accompanied by leading Cypriot companies active in the professional services and real estate development sectors, participated in the international MIPIM Exhibition (Marche International des Professionnels de la Immobillier), which took place at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France between March 12-15.
MIPIM is considered to be the leading international real estate exhibition, attended by more than 26,000 professionals, 3,350 exhibitors and 5,400 representatives of the investment sector from 100 countries.
Invest Cyprus participated in the exhibition with a Cyprus Pavilion, along with Cybarco, Leptos Estates, Pafilia, Ayia Napa Marina, Deloitte Cyprus, KPMG, L. Papaphilippou & CO and Treppides & Co LTD.
The members of the Cypriot delegation were given the chance to promote the country’s investment opportunities and its advantages as an investment destination such as its geographic location, good weather conditions, high quality of life, attractive tax status and friendly business environment.
At the same time, they informed participants of Cyprus’ economic path and the subsequent development of the real estate sector. Special emphasis was given to the fact that Cyprus is recording high growth rates, overcoming the economic challenges of the previous years, while it has become a top European destination for visitors and businesses as well as a top choice for second-home purchases. The tourism sector’s impressive numbers, creating momentum for the quantitative and qualitative upgrade of the hospitality sector, were also highlighted. It should be noted that Invest Cyprus Chairman, Michalis P. Michael participated in a panel discussion on investments in the Mediterranean region. The debate focused on how Cyprus, Greece and Malta can attract investments as well as the factors that determine the implementation of attractive investment policies, driving local economies to sustainable growth.
