New KEDIPES CEO to be announced soon

The new Chief Executive Officer of state-owned Cyprus Asset Management Company (KEDIPES) will be announced soon, according to inside information by Phileleftheros.

And the next step will be the selected candidate’s approval by the Central Bank of Cyprus which supervises KEDIPES.

Interest in the position of the entity which was set up after the liquidation of the Cooperative Bank of Cyprus has been expressed by candidates both from Cyprus and Greece.

As a matter of fact, the proportion of Cypriot and Greek applicants was around 60% and 40% respectively with the initial list of applicants having a total of 55 on it.

Following an evaluation by Deloitte which carried out the selection process, 12 candidates were short-listed, reduced to six in the final round.

The selected candidate’s portfolio includes pending staff-related issues, KEDIPES’ new organisational structure, renewal of Altamira’s contract terms and a brand new business plan.

The contract’s term of office is four years, to be renewed for another four if all parties concerned are in agreement. And the salary includes a competitive set of fixed and variable earnings depending on qualifications and experience.

According to the vacancy announcement, required qualifications are: BA/BSC and Postgraduate Degree (MA/MSC/MBA) in Finance/Business Management/ Financial Management or other related field and/or professional degree.

In addition, at least 10 years of managerial experience in a relevant field, at least five years of experience in managing non-performing loans or in debt recovery or servicing with a commercial bank, asset management/servicing company or in a non-performing loan management/servicing company, with an in-depth understanding of non-performing corporate lending principles and activities, as well as a very good knowledge of Central Bank of Cyprus legislative and other directives.

At the same time, the candidate should have excellent leadership and administrative skills with a focus on delivering results, business ethics and honesty, very good communication and interpersonal skills, character and professional integrity, computer skills (MS Office) as well as an excellent command of the Greek and English language.
