Hermes Airports major shareholder eyes Greece’s Venizelos airport

French Egis group which is one of Hermes Airports major shareholder has expressed interest in a 30% stake in Greece’s Eleftherios Venizelos international airport, according to Phileleftheros.

Egis group controls 20% of Hermes Airports and is the consortium’s second major shareholder after French giant Bouygues Construction Airport Concessions Europe with a 22% stake.

Egis group, along with US investment firm KKR are after the 30% stake owned by the privatisation fund the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund.

In September, the Greek government decided to take immediate action for the sale of this stake and instructions were given to immediately continue a process asking for the submission of offers for the airport.

The following groups have submitted offers:

ADP GROUPE which operates the international airport in Paris along with 25 other airports worldwide.

APG ASSET MANAGEMENT, an investment group which manages assets of Dutch insurance funds worth over €530 billion.

AVIALLIANCE GMBh, the company which already operates “Eleftherios Venizelos” and belongs to Canadian group  PSP.

FERROVIAL INTERNATIONAL SE, which belongs to Spain’s giant group Ferrovial whose participation in airport operations worldwide is substantial.

FIRST STATE INVESTMENTS, an Australian investment firm which manages capital worth over US$150 billion.

GLOBAL INFRASTRUCTURE PARTNERS, an investment firm with over US$51 billion capital focusing mainly on construction

VINCI AIRPORTS, a subsidiary of French group Vinci which is the major shareholder in the consortium operating Rio-Antirio Bridge and major shareholder in Olympia Odos.

ARDIAN INFRASTRUCTURE FUND S.C.A, SICAR and ARDIAN INFRASTRUCTURE FUND V B S.C.S. SICAV – RAIF consortium of France’s Ardian investment group (former AXA Private Equity).

KKR και EGIS consortium – the American and French groups with stakes in Hermes Airports as well.

MEIF 6 ATTIC INVESTMENT, RAFFLES INFRA HOLDING και CHENGDONG INVESTMENT CORPORATION consortium – the first two are private investment firms in Luxemburg and Singapore, respectively, and the third belongs to the Chinese state.
