Indian nationals stranded in Cyprus invited to declare interest for repatriation

The High Commission of India in Cyprus has invited Indian nationals in Cyprus who are stranded here due to Coronavirus and wish to travel back to India to declare their interest by submitting an electronic form through its website.

The Indian High Commission in Nicosia clarified that the purpose of the registration “is to only collect relevant data and no decision has been taken yet regarding resumption of flights to India. The High Commission will provide information in due course on the website and its social media platforms as and when a decision is taken by the Government of India in this regard.”

It added that the following points should be noted by those wishing to travel to India:

(a) Airfare and other charges, where applicable, would be borne by the returnee

(b) They will undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine on arrival in India at their own expense as per protocols framed by the Government of India.

(d) They will be required to sign an Undertaking and carry a copy of the same before boarding the flight.

(e) Incomplete forms will not be considered.

(f) Once the form is filled, there is no need of sending any further e-mail to the High Commission in this regard.
