The office of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights announced the organising of a children’s art exhibition on March 17 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted by the UN General Assembly on 20 November 1989.
The exhibition, titled “I have an opinion, I have ideas, I have a say! Can anyone hear me?”, will host the art of children aged 3-18 years from across Cyprus next to works of adult artists created especially for the occasion, themed after Articles 12 and 13 of the Convention on children’s freedom of expression.
The exhibition opening will take place on March 17 at 10:30 am at the Nicosia Municipal Multipurpose Centre and a round table discussion will follow titled “Children’s right to participation” in the presence of academics, artists and children.
Certificates of attendance will be handed out for participation in the round table discussion – for registrations the public can email Tonia Samptani at [email protected] or call 22872315 and 22872325.
