How much do state officials make?

The Attorney General, the Deputy Attorney General, the President of the Supreme Court and Supreme Court judges are the best-paid state officials, Phileleftheros reported.

According to payrolls included in the state budget for 2019, the annual net salary received by each of these officials is €106,936.

In second place are District Court Presidents with €86,645 a year.

The President of the Republic has an annual net salary of €89,390, the President of the Parliament €73,718, the Deputy Minister to the President, the Deputy Minister of Shipping and the Government Spokesman €61,008.

MPs have net annual earnings of €50,867, the Tax Commissioner €67,346, the Assistant Tax Commissioner €56,018 and the Commissioner of Legislation €61,008.

The Auditor General, the Accountant General, the Chief of Police, the Commander of the Intelligence Service, the director of the House of Representatives and the permanent secretaries of Ministries have a net annual income of €72,421.

The net annual salaries of civil servants start at €14,478 at scale A1 and can reach up to €17,646 for scale A2. A4 civil servants make €21,673. A5 civil servants €24,464.

On the A6 scale, the net salaries of civil servants are €27,434. Employees in the A7 scale have annual earnings of €28,360, while the A8 salary is €30,618. On the A9 scale the annual earnings are €33,258 and in A10 €36,198.

On scale A10 the salaries of civil servants are €38,002. On A11 €41,641, A12 is €43,254, A13 is €46,844, A14 is €50,219, A15 is €56,277 and finally, A16 is €58,266.
