Officials at the Health Ministry are working to finalize the changes that are expected to take place regarding measures and restrictions currently in place and aiming to contain the pandemic.
According to O Fileleftheros information, the plan, among others, includes categorization of countries and activities depending on the level of their risk. It is also almost certain that some restrictions may be lifted but will be replaced by less strict ones.
Scientists appear concerned since even though the epidemiological data appears to be improved compared to the holiday period, Cyprus is still in the risk zone, something that does not permit big changes for the time being.
However, during Tuesday’s meeting, it is certain that there will be a suggestion to permit entrance to nightclubs and restaurants of unvaccinated children 12-18 provided they have a negative rapid test as well as a proposal about dancing in nightclubs.
The discussion to expand the “test to stay” measure to other sectors must also be seen as certain. At a first stage, according to information, the program will be implemented to other sectors of civil service.
Finally, according to some information, there might be changes regarding meetings at houses or in various social events, without, however, any official positions by the Ministry.
