Popular singer, Giorgos Stamataris introduces us to his favourite spots for coffee, food and drinks in Nicosia and Limassol.

-Where do you usually enjoy your morning coffee?

-Although I don’t drink coffee, I like to have my breakfast in front of the TV so I can get informed.

-Which is your favorite city yard?

-At Karvounomageiremata. It is an inner courtyard with a nice atmosphere.

-Where can you find the best souvlaki?

-Karvounostimies in my neighbourhood. Always high quality and clean.

-Where do you find authentic meze dishes?

-At Zanettos in Nicosia. Very consistent.

-Favorite restaurant/bar/cafe in your neighborhood?

-My new favourite shop in my neighbourhood is Paul. A new option in the centre of Nicosia, which I liked very much.

-Could you reveal a well-hidden city gem?

-Although it is not a big secret, I’ll say it for those who don’t know it. Valtou Rigani in Nicosia. It is also value for money.

-A restaurant that holds a special place in your heart? A recommended dish?

-To Elliniko at Hilton Park. Great Greek cuisine. I always order its dakos and the pluck meat.

-Which is your favorite kind of cuisine and where you can enjoy it in Cyprus?

-I really love Greek cuisine and I enjoy it at Valtou Rigani.

-The best place to hang out with friends?

-Buono Lounge Bar in Nicosia. I have been singing there, every Friday, for 5 years.

-Where could you find the best cocktails?

-You can enjoy very nice cocktails at Epsilon Resto Bar at Limassol’s marina.

-Where do you usually find delightful sweets?

-For some years now, at the city centre you can find Boutique Patisserie, where my friend Mariella Christou makes her wonderful sweets.

-Which place do you remember fondly?

-The memories we all have from our childhood are always the best. I spend my childhood at Ayioi Omoloyites, where our home was. Near there, was Mondial confectionery, which was popular for its chocolate cake. Since I was 5, I used to go there every day to get it.
