GHS Phase Two goes ahead on Monday but some services pushed back to September

The Health Insurance Organisation (HIO) said on Friday that the implementation of Phase Two of GHS will go ahead as planned with the introduction of hospital care on June 1, but 10 services are being pushed back to September, philenews reports.

The following services will be launched on September 1:

  1. Rehabilitation services
  2. Palliative care
  3. Physiotherapists
  4. Clinical psychologists
  5. Clinical dietitians
  6. Dentists
  7. A&E
  8. Ambulances
  9. Oncology
  10. Dialysis

Changes notwithstanding, things are looking up for GHS ahead of Monday with 40 private hospitals having joined so far increasing Gesy’s hospital capacity island-wide by around 1,000 beds to 2,500.
